may be consequences of other things. Did humans invent the
cause and effect relation or did they discover it first and then
created words (such as: mass, time, why, because, force, work,
heat, energy, supply, demand, etc.) to communicate the idea?

The ideas of cause and effect began about 1000CE -- people began to
understand that they could change their status in life -- that it wasn't
that they were born the way it was meant to be and they could/should do
nothing about it -- that "heaven" did not control the minutia.

F=ma came later. (:-)
