Steve did not know about P&F until he was asked to referee a grant proposal
by P&F (to whom I don't recall)  Upon receipt there was a very loud oops
from the Science Center at BYU and long discussions with BYU
lawyers.  Steve was working on a paper at the time.  He/somebody
communicated with P&F and they all (including lawyers) agreed to submit
papers simultaneously by FedEx -- but P&F submitted a day early and held a
news conference - this to establish chronological priority.

P&F were at the UofUtah.  They wear bright red sports uniforms there!  BYU
uniforms are a righteous blue -- except the new football uniforms are a bit
tacky.
