source. More research needs to be done in that area before it is
economical on the large scale.

If you truly mean "ultimate" solar energy is not renewable, as the sun will
burn out. Solar energy methods on the earth are merely an attempt to
collect energy that is already being expended (in the sun and transported
here via radiation mechanisms.
