Danger: well-intentioned, possibly misguided response:

It is well known that when electrons are oscillated along a wire
at a suitable frequency, electro magnetic waves are propagated.
We think of these as radio waves.

 Free electrons may also be oscillated transversely while they are in
linear motion, and electro magnetic waves are again produced.
These waves may be produced over a wide range of frequencies.
