The Colegio Menor San Francisco de Quito is a preK-12, bilingual,
Ecuadorian school in Quito, Ecuador. There are 115 faculty and about 1000
students at the Colegio which is only three years old and located on a new
campus a few miles east of Quito. The school year is from the first of
September until the end of June with December and April vacations.
The science curriculum utilizes the STC program for grades k-6 with Life
Science at grade 7, Earth Science in 8, Conceptual Physics in 9, Chemistry
in 10 with Biology, Environmental Science, Astronomy, and Advanced Physics
offered as electives in grades 11 and 12.
The Colegio is seeking to replace the current Physics teacher who is
returning to the US after several years. The Physics classroom is equipped
with 6 Macintosh PowerPC computers and Vernier interface hardware along
with extensive software and related materials for teaching Physics.
Multi-year contract with housing allotment, health and life insurance,
round trip airfare to the US and professional development opportunities
through the Universidad San Francisco de Quito and Boston University.
