Nope, not Alpher, Bethe, Gamow.;  I was thinking of the B2FH  paper or a 1954 Hoyle one.   However I did conflate,  as I thought Gamow was involved in one of those  papers.  



bc   ….  remembers a comment that Fred was the source of the most Astron. theory advancement, because he’d proposed ”junk” and all the theoreticians would work to prove, as ”junk”  


p.s.  Note his defense of a woman, and not given a very deserved Nobel for his early work.
