Jack confirms my suspicions (voiced a few days ago) about the phenomenon,
but I suspect that Leigh may have hit upon the source of the observation
(which did occur to me as well) that the student was comparing a hard hit
ball with over-spin to a weakly hit ball sliced with back-spin.
