While the universe is not old enough to contain any, do we have a name for the post-main sequence ending stage of a star whose mass is too small to ever fuse helium into carbon? Most sources say white dwarfs are made of carbon, but what do we call it if it isn’t? A helium white dwarf? That is, white dwarfs exist and are made of carbon. What I’m asking about doesn’t exist yet, but would be made of helium. Does it have a name?
