To find which pizza deal has the most area, compare the ratio of the pizza areas by simply looking at the ratio of the squared diameters (multiplied by the number of pizzas of that size):
For two 5" pizzas the ratio = (5" x 5") x 2 / (9" x 9") = 50 / 81
For three 5" pizzas the ratio = (5" x 5") x 3 / (9" x 9") = 75 / 81
For four 5" pizzas the ratio = (5" x 5") x 4 / (9" x 9") = 100 / 81 , a better deal.
