[Phys-L] Joule-Thomson Heating.
My imagination was engaged by the [advertisement] tale of a school-boy faced
with a failed school heating system. He created a heater with a fan, a heating
element and a throttle valve. This lifted the room temperature faster than a
regular electric heater (which is  100% efficient at converting  electrical
energy to hot air, after all!)
Does anyone have experience of this form of heating? It is said to involve
Joule-Thomson heating in an entropy raising manner.I have a horrible feeling I
have succumbed to slick marketing.
