Re: [Phys-l] Research into student evaluations

I recommend a look at this book:
Changing Practices in Evaluating Teaching: A Practical Guide to Improved Faculty
Performance and Promotion/Tenure Decisions by Peter Seldin (Editor)

The student evaluations are (surprisingly) a valid measure of teaching performance.
There are a lot of miscomceptions about student evals. This book includes studies of
evals.

Can anyone recommend any research articles on the nature of the correlation between any of the following

student teaching-evaluations and academic expectations
student teaching-evaluations and course delivery techniques (e.g. lecture vs active)
student teaching-evaluations and gains on standardized tests, such as FCI
gains on standardized tests and course delivery techniques
