I should have said:
        The number of rationals (aleph-null) is indeed much less
        than the number of reals (C).

That is, strictly speaking, the number of reals is called "C".  C is bigger
than than aleph-null, but the assertion that
   C = aleph-one
cannot be proved.  But you cannot disprove it, either.  It's like the
parallel postulate -- take it or leave it.
