Hi James-
1. Congratulations on your job an SUNY Geneseo.
2. You ask:
***********************************************************
Does anyone have favorite textbooks for the physics of sound at the
non-majors/university freshman level?
I'm not completely satisfied with any of the books I have looked at so
far.

Your question is too vague. Why don't you give us a brief outline
of what you would like to teach in a Physics-of-Sound Course.
Regards,
Jack
"I scored the next great triumph for science myself,
to wit, how the milk gets into the cow. Both of us
had marveled over that mystery a long time. We had
followed the cows around for years - that is, in the
daytime - but had never caught them drinking fluid of
that color."
