The Physics Department (http://www.lfc.edu/physics/) invites applications for a
one-year position. We seek a candidate with a Ph.D. in physics who is dedicated to
teaching undergraduates in class and laboratory. The department has a long-standing
involvement in undergraduate education at the local and national level and has
research programs in optics, atomic collisions, and laser spectroscopy.
Applications from women and minorities are actively encouraged. Letters of
application should address the candidates professional goals in a small-college
teaching environment and should include a statement of teaching philosophy.
Applications should also include at least three letters of reference, and a
curriculum vitae. Applications arriving by April 5, 1999 will receive full
consideration. Scott Schappe, Acting Chairperson, Department of Physics, Lake Forest
